Sri Lanka is going to have a provincial T-20 Premier League [SLPL]



Have you heard that Sri Lankan cricket board is going to organize a Provincial T-20 Premier League? Specialty of this league is 33 International players will be in action. SLPL will start on 19th July and continuing up to 04th of August at R. Premadasa Stadium in Colombo. International players will be taking action with Sri Lankan national cricketers and with hopeful Sri Lankan Youngsters.
All these overseas players will be divided in to 07 provincial teams and one squad won`t get more than five overseas players. It is mandatory to play four overseas players in a match and other seven players will be Sri Lankans in the playing eleven. Young cricket audience hope that SLPL will be as same as ongoing IPL.
There are seven Provincial teams and they are Wayamba Wolves, Kandurata Kites, Basnahira Bears, Ruhuna Rhinos, Uva Unicorns, Nagenahira Nagas, Uthura Oryxes.
Among overseas players majority number of players will be Indians (12).Two showcase players will be David Warner and Shaun Tait from Australia. Six Pakistani players will be playing in SLPL with Shahid Afridi and Sohaib Akhtar. Chris Gayle and Keiron Pollard who are the two “Storms” from West Indies will be taking action in SLPL.
The foreign players who are invited to SLPL Tournament are Callum Ferguson, Dan Christian, David Warner, Shaun Tait, Tamim Iqbal, Dinesh Karthik, Irfan Pathan, Manish Pandey, Manoj Tiwary, Munaf Patel, Paul Valthaty, Praveen Kumar, Ravindra Jadeja, Ravichandran Ashwin, Saurabh Tiwary, Umesh Yadav, Vinay Kumar, Kevin O` Brien, Daniel Vettori, Imran Nazir Shahid Afridi, Soaib Akhtar, Sohal Tanvir, Umar Akmal, Wahab Riaz, Albie Morkel, Herschelle Gibbs, Lonwabo Tsotsobe, Makhaya Ntini, Chris Gayle, Keiron Pollard, Danza Hyatt, Darren Bravo.
